A panel of experts today will discuss Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson's goals of making the area a "farm-to-fork" capital and the agriculture industry's impact as a regional economic driver.
The lunchtime forum, open to the public, is titled "Perspectives on Agriculture The Intersection of Mayor Johnson's Year of Food and Our Region's Ag Economy." It will run from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Sacramento, 1209 L St.
Besides Johnson, panel participants will include Bryce Lundberg, vice president of agriculture for Lundberg Family Farms; Mark Jansen, CEO of Blue Diamond Growers; Tim Johnson, president and CEO of the California Rice Commission; Patrick Mulvaney, owner of Mulvaney's B&L restaurant in Sacramento; and Pamela Marrone, CEO and founder of Marrone Bio Innovations in Davis.
