River Cats at a glance: Moore and Parrino swing the big sticks

Published: Saturday, May. 18, 2013 - 12:00 am | Page 5C

• Highlights: Scott Moore and Andy Parrino hit back-to-back homers in the fifth inning, and Andrew Werner allowed three hits and one run over seven innings to lead the River Cats to a 4-2 victory over the Oklahoma City RedHawks on Friday night at Raley Field.

• Nakajima watch: The A's have five days left to make a decision on rehabbing shortstop Hiroyuki Nakajima. Major League Baseball rules stipulate that rehabilitation assignments for position players can last no longer than 20 days. Because Nakajima is on the A's 40-man roster, the team can either recall him or option him to the River Cats.

• Cats moves: Reliever Hideki Okajima and outfielder Chris Young were added to the A's roster, and outfielder Michael Taylor rejoined the River Cats from the A's. In other moves, pitcher James Simmons and outfielder Conner Crumbliss were sent to Double-A Midland.

• Today: River Cats RHP Bruce Billings (3-2, 6.10 ERA) vs. Oklahoma City RedHawks RHP Jarred Cosart (4-0, 2.08), 7:05 p.m., Raley Field.
