Foreclosures in the Sacramento region fell in March by more than half from the same month a year ago, CoreLogic reported today.
In the four-county region, the rate of foreclosures among outstanding mortgages was 1.26 percent in March compared with 2.71 percent in March 2012, the Irvine-based real estate information service said.
Foreclosure activity in the Sacramento area in March was lower than the national foreclosure rate of 2.84 percent, CoreLogic reported.
The percentage of Sacramento-area homeowners who were seriously late on their mortgage payments also fell by large margins, the firm said.
In March, 4.4 percent of mortgage loans were delinquent by 90 days or more compared with 7 percent during the same period last year, CoreLogic said.
