LESBIAN, GAY, BISEXUAL, TRANSGENDER OLDER ADULTS WORKSHOP

When: Thursday, 1 to 5 p.m.

Where: Stanislaus Learning Institute, County Center 3, Room 1, 917 Oakdale Road

Info: The Stanislaus County Area Agency on Aging and the Center for Living Forward are holding a workshop, "Improving the Quality of Services and Support for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Older Adults." Training is free, unless requesting continuing education units. Space is limited and registration is requested in advance. Provide your name, name of your organization, your email address and your license number (if requesting continuing education units). The course meets the qualifications for four hours of CEU credit for marriage and family therapists and licensed clinical social workers as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences, provider #PCE-2079. Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, provider #CEP-13610 for four contact hours. CE Provider: Institute on Aging. YOUNG WRITERS WORKSHOP

When: June 3-14, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Where: California State University, Stanislaus, 1 University Circle

Info: The Great Valley Writing Project at CSUS is sponsoring a two-week youth writing program for students entering grades four through nine in the fall. Under the guidance of experienced GVWP teacher consultants, students can grow as they share their writing with fellow students, conference with teachers and experiment with a variety of genres and creative techniques. The $250 registration fee includes all class materials, a GVWP T-shirt and an anthology of the students' writing. A family discount is available for two or more students. LIONS CLUB CAR SHOW
