Fair conditions give way to clouds, wind, some rain on Monday

Today and Sunday are expected to remain relatively clear, with high temperatures around 80 degrees. But a weather system is expected to move in on Memorial Day, bringing showers to the Sacramento region.

"There's a 50 percent chance of showers (Monday)," said National Weather Service forecaster Stefanie Henry. "It will be a little breezy, too."

Henry said rainfall accumulation won't be more than two-tenths of an inch for the region. Wind gusts are expected to reach 15 to 20 mph in most areas.

Here's the seven-day forecast:

Today: Sunny, with a high near 80. South wind around 6 mph becoming west in the morning.

Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 53. South-southeast wind 8 to 10 mph.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 78. Southwest wind around 10 mph.

Sunday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 53. South-southeast wind 7 to 11 mph.

Monday: A 50 percent chance of showers for Memorial Day, mainly after 11 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 72. South-southwest wind 6 to 9 mph.

Monday night: A 40 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 55.

Tuesday: A 20 percent chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 78.

Tuesday night: A slight chance of showers. Partly cloudy, with a low around 56.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 78.

Wednesday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 54.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 82.

Thursday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 56.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 87.
