  • Veterans reflect on 60th anniversary of the cease-fire that ended Korean conflict
Retired Army Staff Sgt. Duane Anderson is contrasted against blowing flags which line the entrance to the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, Calif. Anderson, 81, is a retired Sac State administrator who now lives in Sacramento. In 1950, he was a young infantry soldier in the U.S Army. Anderson spent over 10 months fighting in the front lines. Only 1.5 million service members actually served in that conflict, and their numbers are dwindling today. With the upcoming 60th anniversary of the cease-fire that ended the Korean conflict -- and with ongoing, unresolved hostilities with North Korea continuing today -- they would like the world to remember them and what's been called "the forgotten war."
