Aftershock, the Monster Energy-sponsored rock and metal festival that draws fans to Sacramento's Discovery Park, has revealed its headliners for its second year. They include Avenged Sevenfold, Korn, Papa Roach, Megadeath, Shinedown and others.

The festival takes place Sept. 14-15. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. today. Information: aftershockconcert.com.

Two-day general-admission passes are $99.50 and single-day passes are $54.50. Two-day VIP passes are $199 and include use of a special entrance, a lounge, seated and standing areas in view of the main stage, a seated area with shade for dining, private restroom facilities and a VIP guest laminate (ticket-credential).

A general admission Revolver four-pack – or four tickets for both days – is also available for $298, and includes a one-year subscription to Revolver Magazine for one person.

5, 4, 3, 2, 1 ...

Launch, a festival that bills itself as "Sacramento's annual celebration of creativity," is scheduled to open with a block party Sept. 4 at midtown's MARRS Building.

According to Justin Nordan, the project manager for Launch, the party is free and open to the public, and will feature four musicians and a beer garden.

Information is at launchsacramento.com. Nordan said additional details are to be made available in early July.

The lineup for the festival's two days of music – held Sept. 7 and 8 at Cesar Chavez Plaza – has been announced. Mash-up artist Girl Talk and indie bands Rocket from the Crypt, Imagine Dragons and Minus the Bear are scheduled to headline the festival, due to include close to 30 acts.

Tickets for the musical event range from single-day tickets for $55 to weekend-long passes for $85. A limited number of student tickets are also available.

Now in its fourth year, Launch also includes a fashion show and a second party that will feature Oakland-based artist Wallpaper.

Don't forget R&B and country

R&B and country fans, rejoice!

The Sunrise at Night concert series has announced that '90s soul hitmakers Boyz II Men, R&B group Bell Biv DeVoe and country chart-toppers Trace Adkins, Diamond Rio and John Michael Montgomery are among the many acts set to perform at Sunrise Marketplace later this summer.

The acts join a lineup including hard rock, soft rock and jazz acts. The groups will perform at Sunrise Marketplace's outdoor pavilion, at the corner of Sunrise Boulevard and Greenback Lane, Citrus Heights.

The concert series begins Aug. 10 with jazz artist Dave Koz and Friends, and continues through September. Other artists include Christopher Cross, Orleans, Bachman & Turner and Blue Öyster Cult.

Ticket prices vary by act and seats, but range from $29.50 to $110.50.
