Re "Speeding cyclists are a danger" (Letters, June 10): I agree the American River Parkway trail is dangerous and speeding cyclists add to the issue. A big part of this problem is miscommunication among different types of users.
I cycle on the path and I've encountered dangerous behavior from all parties. Cyclists are supposed to stay on the right and ride the posted speed. Joggers and walkers are supposed to stay on the left. Many times I've seen walkers take up most of the paved area, assuming cyclists can go around. They do not see there may be oncoming cyclists that makes that dangerous. Cyclists need to be aware that the trail is for all users and be considerate.
