Fluoride in the water is not safe for everyone

Re "Davis has a dental debate" (Our Region, June 9): My 62 year-old daughter's smile is modified by mottled teeth. We discontinued fluoride use too late for tooth beauty. Lots of Americans display mottled teeth in TV appearances.

Water fluoridation isn't supported worldly. In 2003, the only European countries continuing fluoride were Ireland, the United Kingdom and Spain. A village in Turkey with a high fluoride water level proved some astounding premature aging effects with people displaying arthritic conditions, stillbirths, impotence, lack of appetite, etc.

A fluoride imbalance causes a breakdown in collagen, the protein involved in skin texture. There are no double-blind studies showing fluoridation reduces tooth decay. If a person has an imbalance in copper, iron, calcium, sodium, fluoride, etc., there must be focus on and correction of these problems. Every body doesn't need extra fluoride.
