Re "I'm the leaker, ex-CIA tech says" (Page A1, June 10): Edward Snowden said, "We managed to survive greater threats in our history...than a few disorganized terrorist groups and rogue states without resorting to these sorts of programs." With these words he punctures the nonsense phrase "war on terror" -- a mantra by which we have been manipulated at an unending cost of suffering and social damage. Soldiers are irrelevant to our homeland security, which has been well monitored by competent police work. Past voices that have tried to direct us to facts have been drowned out.
