In 2000, the Sacramento River Cats welcomed their first fan to Raley Field on a cold, rainy Friday night against the Edmonton Trappers.
Thirteen years later, the team will welcome their 10-millionth fan at the West Sacramento ballpark, which has led minor-league baseball in attendance each season.
The lucky fan will be showered with a prize-package worth approximately $3,000 by the River Cats prior to their 7:05 p.m. game against the Tacoma Rainiers, the first of a four-game series.
The gifts will include:
Two Governor's Club tickets for rest of the season.
A custom made golden seat.
A customized River Cats game jersey.
A $1,000 gift gard.
The 10-millionth fan also better have a lively pitching arm. He or she will also have the honor of throwing out the ceremonial first pitch of the game.
