Cats glance: River Cats lose rare pitchers' duel in Reno

Not every day: In a rare pitchers' duel at Aces Ballpark, the River Cats fell 3-1 to the Reno Aces in Thursday night's series finale.

Tough luck: Despite allowing just two earned runs in 5 2/3 innings, River Cats starter Bruce Billings (8-3) suffered his first loss since May 8.

Singles night: A night after scoring nine runs, the Cats mustered just six hits, including five singles.

Bottom feeders: The bottom three hitters in Sacramento's lineup went 4 for 12 with an RBI, while the top six hitters went 2 for 21.

Today's game: River Cats (LHP Justin Thomas 3-4, 4.06 ERA) vs. Tacoma (RHP Brandon Maurer 0-1, 1.42), 7:05 p.m., Raley Field.
