Gray on a roll: River Cats right-hander Sonny Gray (7-4), who began the day second in the Pacific Coast League in ERA (2.48), allowed three earned runs in six innings. He has 10 quality starts in 13 outings and has struck out 45 and walked eight in 38 2/3 innings since May 21.
Starting over: The Cats' Michael Choice had a 12- game hitting streak stopped.
Top gun: Cats catcher Stephen Vogt, who had two doubles, threw out two runners trying to steal and is gunning down runners at a 41 percent clip (19 of 46).
Magic number 6: The River Cats are 28-3 when scoring six or more runs and 12-27 when scoring fewer than six. They are second in the PCL in runs scored with 405 behind Tacoma's 423.
