A stretch of Highway 28 on the northeast shore of Lake Tahoe will be closed for three nights this week for repair work.
Highway 28, from Highway 50 to Ponderosa Ranch Road in Incline Village, Nev., will close from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Tuesday through Thursday, with the work expected to be completed by 5 a.m. Friday.
The Nevada Department of Transportation will apply a flush seal, an oil-based application that helps preserve the roadway surface and increase its longevity.
Residents who live along Highway 28 will be allowed access to their homes. Other motorists are advised to take the Mount Rose Highway to Interstate 580 south, then Highway 50 over Spooner Summit as a detour, according to Scott Magruder, a public information officer with the department.
