The new state Department of Motor Vehicles office in Roseville is scheduled to open Monday, officials said. The new office, at 7200 Galilee Road, is replacing the agency's older downtown office on Harding Boulevard, which closed earlier this month. The Harding office became too small to serve the burgeoning south Placer County area. The closest nearby office is in Rocklin, at 5245 S. Grove St.

The DMV also announced it is closing its Jackson field office at the end of the day Friday for renovations. The facility is expected to remain closed until Sept. 10 to allow for new floors and ceilings, new paint and expanded offices. The closest offices to Jackson are in Placerville, Folsom and Lodi, officials said.
