The Sacramento County Coroner's Office has released the name of a man killed in a rollover accident on Interstate 5 south of Elk Grove.

Andrew James Peterson, 24, of Fresno died from injuries suffered in the traffic accident.

The California Highway Patrol said Peterson was driving his 2005 Toyota Tundra northbound on I-5 north of Hood-Franklin Road when for unknown reasons he lost control of the vehicle about 6:30 a.m. Sunday.

Peterson's pickup truck swerved into the center median and then back to the right across all lanes of traffic and onto the freeway shoulder area. The vehicle then overturned "multiple times," before coming to rest on its wheels on the freeway.

The accident investigation is continuing, said Officer Michael Bradley, CHP spokesman.
