Four men have been arrested and $2 million in marijuana seized in a raid on a pot grow at the Stone Lakes preserve near Elk Grove.
In the raid on Tuesday, agents arrested Anthony Uasiarez, 34, and Ruben Guzman, 18, both of Mexico, and Jorge Vargas Garcia, 22, and Jose Estrada, 23, both of Tulare County.
Agents seized more than 7,000 marijuana plants, 100 pounds of marijuana, two 12-guage shotguns and a handgun.
The Office of the Attorney General announced the drug seizure and arrests today in a press release. Agents began an investigation in May of suspected members of the Sureno gang in Tulare County.
That investigation led agents to the state-owned Stone Lakes Preserve in Sacramento County. There, according to a Department of Justice press release, agents said they found a large-scale marijuana grow, plus a processing and packaging operation.
The men were booked into Sacramento County Jail on suspicion of possession of marijuana for sale, cultivation of marijuana, conspiracy and being armed in commission of a felony.
