Concert in the Park

What: The highly regarded alt- country band Jackpot resurfaces locally for the first time in more than 3 1/2 years as part of the summer concert series across from City Hall. Also on the lineup: Mother Hips, Old Screen Door and Roderick Mar Carpio. Nine downtown clubs have organized "after parties."

Dinner and a movie

What: Combine a classic movie with dinner in an "Art of French Cooking" theme. Or just pop in for the movie, "Julie and Julia." It's all presented by the Sierra Curtis Neighborhood Association.
