Concert in the Park
What: The highly regarded alt- country band Jackpot resurfaces locally for the first time in more than 3 1/2 years as part of the summer concert series across from City Hall. Also on the lineup: Mother Hips, Old Screen Door and Roderick Mar Carpio. Nine downtown clubs have organized "after parties."

Dinner and a movie
What: Combine a classic movie with dinner in an "Art of French Cooking" theme. Or just pop in for the movie, "Julie and Julia." It's all presented by the Sierra Curtis Neighborhood Association. A multicourse, French-catered meal in the Garden Room includes recipes from the movie, which will be shown on the big screen in the 24th Street Theatre. Beverages (alcoholic and non) will be available for purchase.

Luau at the zoo
