Sacramento Bee readers share their gardening adventures.
Warm weather continues to pay dividends with early harvests.
In some Sacramento neighborhoods, grapes are already showing color.
Natomas' Bill and Venus Bird grow a wide range of edibles including a grape variety that happens to be named "Venus." Bill snapped this photo in mid-June.
"The wife that is Venus with the first bunch of ripe Venus table grapes," posted Bird, author of the popular "Sacramento Vegetable Gardening" blog, with this photo. "I have never seen North Natomas-grown grapes ripen up this early!"
