Cats glance: Four runs in fourth inning power Tucson to victory

• Highlight: Tucson scored four times in the fourth inning, Dean Anna had three hits, and right-hander Anthony Bass pitched six strong innings as the Tucson Padres beat the River Cats 6-3 on Monday night at Raley Field.

• Player of the Week: River Cats second baseman Grant Green was named the Pacific Coast League Player of the Week after hitting .480 (12 for 25) with three doubles, two homers, six RBIs and six runs. He joins Luke Montz, Scott Moore and Bruce Billings as POWs this season. However, Green's 10-game hitting streak ended Monday. 

• Triple double: Backup River Cats catcher Ryan Ortiz had three doubles.

• Left-hander let go: The A's released River Cats starting pitcher Justin Thomas, a left-hander. In 16 starts, he was 3-6 with a 4.48 ERA.

• Impressive stat: River Cats first baseman Daric Barton has more than twice as many walks (57) as strikeouts (27).

• Today: River Cats RHP Sonny Gray (7-5, 3.02 ERA) vs. Tucson Padres RHP Brandon Kloess (0-2, 4.37), 7:05 p.m., Raley Field.
