A non-stop bus shuttle will connect the zoo and Old Sacramento this summer.
The zoo is offering the shuttle because officials know that parking can be tight in Land Park. On weekends, parking around zoo is at a premium with people flocking to Funderland amusement park, Fairytale Town, the zoo and the park.
The shuttle will run roundtrip from the Railroad Museum in Old Sacramento to the zoo. That gives people the option of parking in Old Sacramento, seeing the sights, and then taking a ride to the zoo.
The shuttle will run Saturdays and Sundays beginning this weekend and continue through August 25th from 10 a.m. to 5p.m.
Bus fare is $2 a person roundtrip. Children one year old and under are free.
