Internal Revenue Service offices regionally and nationwide will be closed Friday, a byproduct of federal budgeting, including the sequester.
IRS offices also will be closed as usual for today's Independence Day holiday.
Friday is the third IRS furlough day this year the previous two coming on May 24 and June 14 and includes all toll-free hotlines, the Taxpayer Advocate Service and the agency's nearly 400 taxpayer assistance centers nationwide.
While closed, the IRS will be unable to accept or acknowledge receipt of electronically filed returns.
