Outdoor programs at the U.S. Forest Service's Taylor Creek Visitor Center will begin Friday and continue weekly through Aug. 23.

First in the series at the center's Lake of the Sky Amphitheater, off Highway 89 three miles north of South Lake Tahoe, is "Wild Things," an educational look at Sierra Nevada native animals, at 7 p.m. Friday.

The Tahoe Heritage Foundation, a nonprofit group that works with the Forest Service to conduct interpretive and environmental education programs in the Tahoe basin, encourages a $5 donation per person for the programs.
