A moderate Delta breeze is doing its job, delivering cooler temperatures to the Sacramento region.
Today's highs are expected to be about 15 degrees cooler than on the 4th of July. The predicted high of around 93 degrees in Sacramento brings relief to residents who have endured seven straight days of 100-degree weather.
The firecracker-hot high of 110 degrees on Thursday tied a record in Sacramento for Independence Day, according to the National Weather Service.
Look for daytime highs to be around 90 degrees through the weekend.
