Sections of the Garden Highway in Sacramento County will be closed over the next two weeks for a major repaving project that includes two inches of new asphalt on crumbling sections of the levee road.
The work will be conducted in the area between N. Bayou Road and W. Elverta Road, the section of the Garden Highway west of Sacramento International Airport.
Closures will be intermittent between today and Friday, July 26. Area residents will be allowed through, as well patrons of Teal Bend Golf Club, Alamar Restaurant & Marina and Swabbies on the River. There will be no weekend road closures. Detour signs will be in place during closures.
