Located on the corner of Second and J streets, it's a store that the locals shouldn't ignore. Upon entering the store you'll be greeted with shelves of gleaming metal cans, each labeled with contents of oils or balsamic vinegars. Beneath are the bottles and tasting cups. It's a bit overwhelming to the uninitiated, but soon you'll be greeted by someone to assist you on a new tasting experience.

Sacramento Vegan samples Walnut Creek's Maria Maria
The cuisine at Maria Maria is Mexican, and the menu is very meat-centric. In fact, aside from the chips, salsa and guacamole, vegan options seem to be limited to salads with all the non-vegan ingredients omitted. I chose the Mexican Chopped Salad (without the cotija cheese), which consisted of chopped Romaine, black beans, cherry tomatoes, jicama, corn, radish, roasted peppers and avocado, with an agave-lime vinaigrette. It was tasty and very fresh.
