The Bee posse's weekly update of the latest in area conditions, bargains, etc.

Course – What you need to know

Castle Oaks – In great shape tee through green – just keep it out of (largely dirt) bunkers

DarkHorse – Fairways very nice; greens good, but some a little spongy; just the right amount of natural grass around bunkers, along hazards to make things penal/pretty while still being fair; is there a more daunting opening tee shot in the region?

Dry Creek – Probably the best the fairways have been for this time of year in a long time; greens a tad slow but lush and rolling true; rates among area's most reasonable, pro shop and restaurant among area's oldest and outdated

The Ridge – In good shape overall – anything else you need to know?

Teal Bend – Allow for minimal delays getting to course this week (Garden Highway repaving)

Whitney Oaks – Fairways tip-top and rough manageable; greens true but not too fast; 9 out of 10

WildHawk – Another course that's nicely conditioned – with exception of bunkers, of course
