Barton, Taylor, Choice power Cats to victory

• Highlight: Daric Barton had three hits, and Michael Taylor and Michael Choice drove in two runs each to lead the River Cats past the Fresno Grizzlies 9-3 on Friday night at Raley Field.

• Fitzgerald's line: The Grizzlies' starter, former UC Davis right-hander Justin Fitzgerald (0-3), went 4 2/3 innings, allowed six hits, four earned runs, walked four and struck out four.

• Long drought: Winning pitcher Pedro Viola picked up his first Triple-A win since 2002 with Louisville.

• Hitting streaks: River Cats Hiro Nakajima and Choice extended their hitting streaks to nine games.

• Today: River Cats RHP Arnold Leon (1-1. 3.75 ERA) vs. Yusmeiro Petit (3-4, 5.93), 7:05 p.m., Raley Field.
