Re "Obama cites positives under health care law" (Page A6, July 19): As a student studying health care policy, I suggest that President Barack Obama's health care law is good for the nation. While it does have many issues, it is a step up to fixing our broken health care system.
If you are a person who already has health insurance, you will think about all the problems it may pose, but if you are a person who desperately needs health insurance and does not qualify for Medicaid, you will naturally think about the good the Affordable Care Act could do.
Health care reform has become more about politics than actual health care. We all would benefit greatly if everyone (specifically our elected leaders) took the politics out of the discussion and focused on what really matters: affordable quality healthcare for all.
