A grass fire south of Highway 50 in the Folsom and El Dorado Hills area was fully contained Friday afternoon after burning 163 acres.

Teri Mizuhara, a spokeswoman for the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, said the fire was reported at 2:12 p.m. and appeared to have started along eastbound Highway 50, near the Sacramento-El Dorado county line.

Cal Fire, along with firefighters from the Folsom Fire Department and Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District responded.

Mizuhara said a home on Winterfield Way in El Dorado Hills' Stonebriar subdivision suffered some damage after landscaping apparently ignited and fire spread to the fence and the outside of the house. She said firefighters were able to prevent major damage.

Although there were no mandatory evacuations, Mizuhara said an advisory was issued for the Stonebriar subdivision.
