Searchers believe they found the body of the Elk Grove teenager who was feared drowned in the Stanislaus River near Ripon.

The San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office said the body was found at 3 p.m. today on the river near Caswell State Park, two days after he was reported missing.

"The body removed from the river matches the description of the missing 19-year-old Elk Grove man," the office said.

The man, previously identified as Savon Dean, was reported missing Thursday evening. He had gone rafting on the river that afternoon. Several hours later, the friend returned to the park alone, telling family members that Dean "needed help as he was last seen struggling in the river without a life jacket," according to sheriff's officials.

The body has been turned over to the San Joaquin County coroner for an autopsy and positive identification.
