Another 100-degree day for Sacramento predicted

Hot weather is predicted again today with another 100-degree day expected in Sacramento.

The National Weather Service morning forecast on Wednesday called for about 97 degrees for yesterday. However, by the end of the day, the mercury was able to reach 100 degrees.

Today, another century mark reading could be in the offing for Sacramento. Then, according to NWS forecasters, temperatures will cool to near normal on the weekend.

The detailed, 7-day forecast from the NWS for the Sacramento region:

Today: Sunny and hot, with a high near 100. South southwest wind 6 to 8 mph.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 63. South wind around 10 mph.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 95. South southwest wind 7 to 9 mph.

Friday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 61. South wind around 9 mph.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 94. South southwest wind around 6 mph.

Saturday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 59.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 92.

Sunday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 58.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 89.

Monday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 57.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 90.

Tuesday night: Clear, with a low around 58.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 93.
