Weather pattern in position to continue mild weather

Mild weather is expected to continue into next week as atmospheric conditions bring below-normal temperatures to the Sacramento region.

An upper level low situated this morning along the Washington and Oregon coasts and an upper level high pressure system over New Mexico have set up a pattern to bring cooler air through the Delta, according to National Weather Service forecasters.

Look for a slight bump up of daily maximum temperatures on the weekend, forecasters predict, but high temperatures are still expected to be a few degrees below normal for early August.

The detailed, 7-day forecast for the Sacramento region from the NWS:

Today: Sunny, with a high near 86. South wind around 8 mph.

Tonight: Clear, with a low around 56. South wind 9 to 13 mph.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 91. South southeast wind around 6 mph.

Friday night: Clear, with a low around 58. South wind around 9 mph.

Saturday:Sunny, with a high near 91. South wind 5 to 7 mph.

Saturday night: Clear, with a low around 58.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 89.

Sunday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 56.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 89.

Monday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 56.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 90.

Tuesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 57.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 91.
