El Dorado County Sheriff's investigators are seeking Angel Ashbey, 40, a resident of a house that burned Tuesday night in Pilot Hill. The fire burned 11 acres of land and damaged part a home on Pine Tree Court.
About 9 p.m., sheriffs deputies received a call that there was a verbal disturbance at the home, said Lt. Tim Becker of the El Dorado County's Sheriff's Office. While deputies responded, they received another call that there were flames were coming out of the home's windows.
California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection personnel worked with deputies to extinguish the flames at the home, while Cal Fire crews controlled the wildland blaze.
Outside the residence, deputies found 57-year-old Timothy Matson of Placer County, who had suffered injuries to his face and head.
Matson was taken to Auburn Faith Hospital, then transferred to Sutter Roseville Hospital. He told deputies he had been assaulted by Ashbey.
Deputies are trying to find Ashbey, who fled the area before authorities arrived. Anyone with information of her whereabouts is asked to call Detective Troy Morton at (530) 642-4712.
