Re Cellphone alerts are welcome" (Letters, Aug. 8): My cell phone woke me up from a dead sleep. How would I see a blue Nissan from my bed?
This service, paid for by a tax on cell phones, shows how smart our government is. This alert might be effective while I'm driving. But while driving, I can't text or look at my cell phone without breaking the law. I'm being taxed for a service which, if I were to use, would require me to break the law ? Now I say what ever the department that came up with this fine government tax be abolished this is all a waist of tax payers money in had times. the sings on the freeway work just fine they now have had the same message for 48 hours
