A grass fire just east of Lincoln was contained to 20 acres, according to Daniel Berlant, a spokesman for the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.

About 5:30 p.m. today, roughly half a dozen fires started along a set of railroad tracks and grew to 20 acres. There were 16 fire engines, three air tankers, two helicopters, one bulldozer and two hand crews that battled the fire.

Crews are on scene to mop up, said Berlant, who added the cause of the fire is under investigation.
