Re "Name yet another thing after Reagan?" (The Buzz, Aug. 10) and "Seasoned Idaho campers saw through kidnap suspect's story" (Capitol & California, Aug. 12): I see where there is some idea about naming a great big part of the coastal waters for Ronald Reagan.
Foolish though that seems, I noticed in the article about the kidnapper/killer and the girl from San Diego area that the fellow was killed in the "Frank Church" River of No Return Wilderness. Sen. Frank Church, the Senate floor sponsor for the Wilderness Act of 1964, could have been a saint but our wilderness should not have been renamed for him in the weeks before his death.
Next thing you know we will be confronted with the "Tom McClintock" Yosemite National Park.
Can the Kevin Johnson Arena be far behind?
