Re "Egypt toll tops 600; new protests erupt" (Page A1, Aug. 16): Deep within the reporting is the fact that the Muslim Brotherhood pulled out its "sticks and rocks" and we know other unreported weapons killed 43 well-armed and protected soldiers.
The correspondents reported the wounds of the Brotherhood but not those of the dead soldiers. They were manipulated expertly by the Brotherhood.
Media cameras feasted on the blood offering. Forgotten is the fact that the Brotherhood members are sworn enemies of the United States and Israel. They burned our flag and Israel's flag on 9/11 last year. They burned 21 churches in recent days.
The government of Egypt has kept the peace with Israll and Europe for 40 years. Yet our State Department and media correspondents deplore our friends and extol our enemies. Now that's dangerous ink.
