Weekend poll: Will you watch Fox Sports 1, a new 24-hour sports network

Leading Off: Chris Hansen should finally lay down his sword

This, that and the other thing:

• Despite his arms and legs being cut off while losing his battle for the Kings – It's just a flesh wound! – Chris Hansen won't stop fighting. Uncovered as the mystery financier of a petition to force a vote on a downtown arena, Hansen must be making David Stern chafe. The outgoing NBA commissioner wants to see Sacramento and the Kings complete their quest for a new arena. Hansen, who apologized Friday for his financial contribution, would do himself a favor by keeping his mouth and wallet shut if he wants to lead – or be part of – a group that brings an expansion team to Seattle.

• It's one thing to be a liar and a cheat in a baseball clubhouse that possibly has other liars and cheats. But it's another thing to be a liar, cheat and a player who rats on his teammates. If the "60-Minutes" report is true that Alex Rodriguez, through his close associates, obtained and leaked information to implicate Yankees teammate Francisco Cervelli and Milwaukee's Ryan Braun in using performance-enhancing drugs, he might as well retire. There isn't a clubhouse in baseball that would welcome him.

• The last thing this country needs is another 24-hour sports network. But like the overindulging Americans we are, we're going to get a second helping of round-the-clock fun and games this morning with the debut of Fox Sports 1 – formerly the Speed Channel. If it wants to succeed, it should be everything ESPN isn't. Sure failure would be to copy the Worldwide Leader in Sports' script: Booyah!

• A two-game winning streak by the Giants has delayed a dubious milestone in San Francisco's frustrating season. The next loss by the Giants will be their 68th, equaling their 2012 regular-season total.
