A wildfire in the Diamond Springs area was contained Friday after burning 116 acres, including one residence and multiple outbuildings, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.
As of 4:30 p.m., residents who had been advised to evacuate earlier in the afternoon were allowed to return to their homes, said Teri Mizuhara, a spokeswoman for Cal Fire's Amador-El Dorado Unit.
The El Dorado County Sheriff's Office reported evacuations at the Lake Oaks Mobile Home Park and along Patterson Road in Diamond Springs because of the fire, which started shortly before 2 p.m.
Cal Fire reported that the fire began near Koki Lane and Pleasant Valley Road, near Union Mine High School.
Mizuhara said fire crews were investigating the cause of the fire.
