Re "Water plan may shift Delta tunnels" (Page A1, Aug. 15): Instead of spending money on tunnels to send water south we should be building the Auburn dam.
If we are going to allow more and more people to move here, and I don't see anyway of stopping them, we need more storage capacity, period.
As we continue to go through wet/dry years, and we are expected to ship water south and have enough to keep our Delta healthy, there are only a couple of answers, we either build the dam or stop sending water south.
I know there are people that want it both ways, no dam and more water but that's just not going to happen. We can all conserve as much as possible but without more storage capacity we will run out of water. Build the dam and be done with it.
