Re "Lawmakers blast NSA on privacy" (Page A9, Aug. 17): It is disingenuous for Congress to complain about the National Security Agency since many members, including Sen. Dianne Feinstein through the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, knew what the NSA was up to. The true patriot is Edward Snowden, who has far more concern for our constitutional rights than most members of the legislative, executive or judicial branches.
You can't trust a word coming out of the mouths of any person representing the U.S. government, and things will only get worse. I remain astounded the American people remain feckless in the face of a mounting threat to our democracy.
