Re "Boxer stirs up fight on climate science" (Capitol & California, Aug. 17): Sen. Barbar Boxer wants Republicans to get on board with scientists' assessments of the dangers of climate change. But the most recent studies by Russian scientists maintain that a 200-year period of global cooling (an ice age) will soon result. I wonder which scientists the senator is referring to?
The global warming industry posits an increase in the average temperatures throughout the world, but the empirical data shows no warming trend over the past ten years. How can we believe those in the ivory towers of academia about climate change? By decrying deniers, Boxer leaves no room for debate, which is an absolute necessity before committing our financial future to "green" preventative actions.
