Re "Sacramento should link rail future to its glory days" (Forum, Aug. 18): Kudos to Bee Associate Editor Pia Lopez and The Bee for taking leadership in the siting of the railroad maintenance yard. The downtown railyard location is clearly the best alternative. The other sites being considered are either incompatible with surrounding residential neighborhoods, too complicated, too disruptive to Sutter's Landing Park, or too remote. The argument for history, tourism and good jobs that Lopez makes is compelling. I hope our city leaders will get "all aboard" this great idea.
