Re "Health reform could boost use of food stamps" (Editorials, Aug. 20): Forget the impending train wreck that Max Baucus and most Americans are forecasting for Obamacare. Let us instead consider the positives it could produce, like boosting the use of food stamps. At least, that is how The Bee's editorial board would have us view it.
Just think, by doubling California's recipients to 8 million as the editorial board suggests, it would allow the national total to soar well beyond the magic 50 million mark. What a shame it would be if recalcitrant groups like unions, IRS employees, large corporations,members of Congress and government workers sabotage the program by seeking and obtaining exemption from it.
