Re "Arena fans ask more of Hansen" (City Beat, Aug. 21) and "New player emerges in area politics" (Marcos Breton, Aug. 21): How dare anyone call for shredding and tossing out our gladly given signatures calling for a vote on the use of our City of Sacramento public parking funds to support a proposed arena.
We who signed had no way of knowing if our signatures were gathered by either a volunteer or Hansen-funded campaign member, thus no way of knowing if our signatures will possibly be shredded or counted.
We cannot risk signing again as that could be fraudulent and thus this would once more negate our voices for a vote on this matter. This is a win for dirty, underhanded politics for shutting off the public outcry against the using of our public parking funds for private profit instead of the public good like schools, police and fire protection, parks, etc.
