Sacramento area weather warm with smoke in the skies

Smoke from the American and Rim fires may cloud the skies in Sacramento today.

The region will be relatively warm, with a high temperature of 91 degrees. The scattered thunderstorms have headed north into the mountains.

"We might be warming up a little," said National Weather Service forecaster Holly Osborne.

Friday's high temperature is predicted at 93 degrees.

Here's the seven-day forecast:

Today: Sunny, with a high near 91. South southwest wind 8 to 13 mph.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 60. South southeast wind 6 to 8 mph.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 93. Light and variable wind becoming west around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Friday Night: Clear, with a low around 62. West southwest wind 7 to 9 mph becoming south in the evening.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 91. South wind around 8 mph.

Saturday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 59.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 88.

Sunday Night: Clear, with a low around 58.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 89.

Monday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 59.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 90.

Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 60.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 89.
