Re "Last Nixon tapes shed more light on cover-up" (Page A1, Aug. 22) and "NSA lawbreaking revealed" (Page A9, Aug. 22): How pathetically laughable that a scandal in 1973 is placed on the front page of The Bee while a current, and very serious, current lawbreaking concern is on page A9.
The National Archives and Records Administration release of the final tapes recorded by President Richard Nixon between April and July 1973, including the Watergate investigations and diplomacy with the Soviet Union and China is history. The past is what it is. Get over it.
The present is a priority as it leads to the future. Shouldn't current issues of greatest concern be highlighted on the front page and old news be placed in less prominent locations, if at all?
