The Hyalite Reservoir is in the Gallatin National Forest, about 12 miles south of Bozeman and near Palisade Falls. The reservoir contains Yellowstone cutthroat, arctic grayling, and brook trout. The limit for angers is 5 trout but all arctic grayling must be released. The reservoir typically ices over, allowing for ice fishing during winter.
