Diverse celebration

What: The District 2 Multicultural Festival will celebrate the diversity of the northern Sacramento area at Hagginwood Park. Hosted by Sacramento City Councilman Allen W. Warren, the festivities will feature live music, dancers, local food vendors, informational booths, community services and a children's zone.

Where: 3271 Marysville Blvd., Sacramento.

When: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Meet the authors

What: Area authors will showcase personal publications at the Arcade Library. Among authors scheduled to attend and autograph their books are A.K. Buckroth, Mort Rumberg, John Powell, M.L. Edson, Sheri Cockrell and Amy Rogers. The Sacramento Suburban Writers Club is sponsoring the event.

Where: 2443 Marconi Ave., Sacramento.

When: 3 to 7 p.m.

Cost: Free.



Two concerts in park

What: The Summer Concerts in the Park series in Carmichael concludes with a pair of events. Tonight, The Count, which plays 1960s-'90s rock with a little soul, will perform. Sunday, the 50-piece River City Concert Band will play.

Where: Carmichael Park, 5750 Grant Ave., Carmichael.

When: 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. both days.

Cost: Free.



Fest in the park

What: Local artists will exhibit and sell their work at the Curtis Fest in William Curtis Park. The event will also feature a petting zoo, photo booth and area musicians.

Where: 3349 W. Curtis Drive, Sacramento.

When: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Cost: Free.
